This connection is celebrated on our bottle, which features two antelope images. The antelope holds significance for both nations: Malawi's national animal is the Gazelle, and South Africa's is the Springbok. The dual imagery represents the unity of these two cultures and reflects the Gin's character, a spirit that is both balanced and distinctive.

Duwa Gin was born from a dream to bring the heart of Africa to the world, one sip at a time. As a Team that is deeply connected to both Malawi and South Africa, we have always carried with us the soul of two lands: Malawi’s quiet strength and South Africa’s vibrant rhythm.
The Meaning Behind the Bottle
Duwa means flower in Chichewa (Malawi's official language); and like the flower, this Gin is a blossoming of cultures, people, and pride. We wanted to create something that wasn’t just African in name, but also African in essence. A spirit that honours our heritage, tells our story, and travels beyond borders.

Our love for citrus was the starting point. Its brightness, freshness, and familiarity is what we have always found irresistible. But citrus alone wasn’t enough, we needed something that felt layered, like the continent itself.
So we explored African ingredients that would elevate citrus, not overpower it. The result? A gin that’s citrus-forward, but also rich, grounding, and unmistakably African.
